Note Not Delivered
"Scott: We haven't met, but I'm a fellow employee. I had to tell you something that perhaps would not be kosher to say in person, so I hope you'll forgive the junior-high anonymity of this note. From the moment I first ran into you, I've been completely smitten. Just walking by you makes my breath catch. We say hello, but I know you are married with children, and I haven't made an attempt to push conversation any further. When I'm fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of you through my window, it takes me back to the daydreams I used to have as a kid. You're the man I always pictured growing old with. But I sense a sadness in you. You seem so tired. Please know that I would never transcend this note, and my sole purpose behind it is to let you know you are loved and admired. I hope that you are happy. Take care of yourself."

See, I'm never sure if a note like that would be a huge compliment and a shot in the old ego... or if it would creep me out and have me checking over my shoulder.

Maybe a little of both?

Right, I totally agree -- which is why I'm posting the note here, and not on his windshield. ;)

No way! I'd love a note like this. It's awesome to be loved and admired, especially by a guy like Chris.

PS - Ever thought of making an audio-based entry? I (along with many other people, I'm assuming) have never heard your voice.

I agreeeee with marK, Chris. Hearing your voice would be sweet. You yourself are loved and admired. :)
