celibacy
Means only to be unmarried; it does not necessarily indicate abstinence from sex, which is chastity.
(Penguin Dictionary for WRiters and Editors)
autotelic
A term denoting that a work, like beauty, creates its own excuse for being. Such a work needs no other justification. The opposite of autotelic is didactic: a didactic work has its justification in the teaching and spreading of a moral lesson derived from that work. From the Greek prefix meaning "self," and the root meaning "purpose."

Coin Locker Babies by Ryu Murakam
The woman pushed on the baby's stomach and sucked its penis into her mouth; it was thinner than the American menthols she smoked and a bit slimy, like raw fish.
Three Lives by Gertrude Stein
The tradesmen of Bridgepoint learned to dread the sound of "Miss Mathilda," for with that name the good Anna always conquered.
Collected Fictions by Jorge Luis Borges
In 1517, Fray Bartolomé de las Casas, feeling great pity for the Indians who grew worn and lean in the drudging infernos of the Antillean gold mines, proposed to Emperor Charles V that Negroes be brought to the isles of the Caribbean, so that they might grow worn and lean in the drudging infernos of the Antillean gold mines.

Hindrance
Nothing left for me to do about it,
This week, this year, this life.
The waiting ceases to exist as a concept
And looms over me now with
Asphyxiating eyes.
("Damnit.")
Why does it have to be this way?
Because I didn't ask for this.
All it needs is a word from you
And it will be off my back.
I use my countless hours like pennies at an arcade
To win meaningless prizes that
Will get thrown away anyhow.
Nothing can come close to your diamond value.
My prideless words inflate you,
Boster your confident feathers.
They should.
(It pains me to promote meaningless malady.)
Your mouth facing me,
Your head turned away.
If only the follow-through were not Jell-O.
Like running fast in a dream, it's thick and frustrates.
I want the punch to land you for me,
But my pride stands mental guard now,
And you take advantage of the distraction to walk away.
